Breakfast and Biz Networking Breakfast - July 2013-June 2014

2013 and 2014 will feature bi-monthly Breakfast and Biz events which are structured networking opportunities. The event provides the opportunity of networking for members and new employees of existing member businesses, and provides valuable exposure among peer business professionals. Business After Hours 2013 2014 (July 1, 2013 thru June 30, 2014) August 2013, October 2013, March 2014, June 2014

Our community's largest business networking event is held four (4) times a year from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Generally held at a member's location or the Chamber of Commerce, it attracts approximately 250 business men and women and features hors d'oeuvres, beverages (beer, wine, water & soft drinks). Sponsors and event participants have the opportunity to meet and network with business leaders from the community. Business After Hours are planned in the following months August, October, March and June. A 25% cancellation fee will be charged if contract is canceled for any reason. 2013 Alabama Department of Revenue New Business Workshops (November 14)

Shoals Chamber of Commerce; 20 Hightower Place; Florence, AL 35630; 10:00 a.m.

Participants will receive a brief, but comprehensive overview of Alabama taxes that will enable the business to begin operating with a clearer understanding of its tax obligations.

Each workshop is approximately one hour long. Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled workshop. There is no cost to attend this event.

Small Business Training Series - January 2014 - December 2014

The Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County will partner with local experts to provide training to our members on a wide range of topics and emerging trends affecting businesses today. Training is scheduled on a monthly basis and provides a cost efficient opportunity to educate members. A 25% cancellation fee will be charged if contract is canceled for any reason. Social Media Conference - December 2013

The Chamber will partner with local experts to present a Social Media Conference in December 2013. Participants will learn about social media marketing best-practices and find out what tools and techniques the pros are using to achieve success for their businesses and organizations. This first time event will be marketed throughout the North Alabama region as the Social Media Conference of the year. Join the Chamber and its partners as a sponsor of this new event.

Women's Business Council Event Series - January 2014 - December 2014

The Women's Business Council is best known for its Quarterly Forum Luncheons, however, 2014 is a new year with new events planned. While the WBC still plans to host Forum Luncheons, the plan will extend beyond that to encompass new and exciting events that will bring the top executives of women-owned businesses to the table. Sponsorships are purchased for the entire event series, not individual events. Attendance for WBC events has skyrocketed in the last 12 months with an average attendance of near 100 at each luncheon. Attendees are a diverse group of small business owners, executives, community leaders and key employees of women-owned small businesses. The 2014 event series will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, discussion forms and women-only networking opportunities. Topics of interest and importance will be presented and discussed that will help the woman-owned business sustain, grow and strengthen. Show your support for women-owned businesses by purchasing a sponsorship for 2014.

Best Places to Work Business Awards - 2014

Starting with the 2013 event, Best Places to Work will be open to companies who employ 10 or more full time employees. Employee count categories will be reorganized in order to recognize companies with 10 – 1000 employees allowing for a broader representation of “best” company recognition. Companies will still be recognized in 4 - 5 categories (based on employee count) as Best Places to Work in Huntsville, and individuals from the contender companies will be eligible to compete as Most Valuable Employees. There will be three (3) winners in each category. Winners will not be announced until the luncheon event.

A 25% cancellation fee will be charged if contract is cancelled more than 30 days prior to the event. Refunds or transfer of credit will not be issued for cancellations less than 30 days prior to the event.

Small Business Lenders Conference - 2014

for Summer 2014, the Chamber of Commerce will partner with the Small Business Administration to present a one and one-half day conference designed for the Small Business Owner, CEO, CFO, etc. The conference will provide traditional and non-traditional ways to finance small businesses. The event, which is new to this area, will be marketed to business owners in the Tennessee Valley Region and is a great opportunity to showcase your business to the extremely diverse composition of businesses in this area. Sponsorship opportunities will allow businesses to showcase their abilities and provide excellent opportunities for networking.
